The trees were assembled by AI agents from public company histories. Each event links to its source. The results can be wrong. Disclaimer
Each line is a page that an event in this atlas cites. The list is built from the dataset, so it grows when new research is merged in.
Name a bank that is not in the atlas yet. Use a business email. We send you a confirmation first. The request reaches bankatlas@fxriskintelligence.com only after you open that message, and an agent then researches the tree.
Personal inboxes are refused. Nothing is queued, and nothing is mailed to us, until the confirmation is opened. Events in this atlas were researched by AI agents from public company histories, filings and Wikipedia. Every event links to its source. A requested name is not published until an agent has sourced it.
Effective 29 October 2026. These terms govern Bank Lineage Atlas, the free site at bankatlas.fxriskintelligence.com.
Bank Lineage Atlas is operated by Rondanini Publishing Ltd (“Rondanini”, “we”). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it. The privacy notice explains personal data. The disclaimer explains the limits of the charts.
Rondanini Publishing Ltd, 60 Tottenham Court Road, Suite 6438a, Fitzrovia, London, W1T 2EW, United Kingdom. Registered in England and Wales, company number 16548159. Telephone +44 203 432 3380. The site is Bank Lineage Atlas, published at bankatlas.fxriskintelligence.com. It is free. Errors and corrections: bankatlas@fxriskintelligence.com.
The atlas is a historical chart of bank mergers, rescues, splits and sales. It is general information for research and education. It is not a bank, broker, adviser or regulated firm, and it is not offered as a substitute for a filing, a statute, or advice from a qualified person.
Nothing on the atlas is financial, investment, trading, legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or risk-management advice, a personal recommendation, or an invitation to buy, sell or hold any security or instrument. Names of banks are historical subjects, not recommendations. A chart of who absorbed whom is not a view on credit, capital, or what any institution should do.
The trees were assembled by AI agents from public company histories, filings and reference pages, and then checked against pages that were opened. AI output can be wrong, incomplete, out of date, or mis-joined. A source link shows where a statement was taken from; it is not a warranty that the statement is complete or still current. If sources disagreed, the event says so. Deal values appear only when a source stated them. Report a mistake to bankatlas@fxriskintelligence.com.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the site for lawful private or professional research. You may not scrape it in bulk, overload it, or present it as your own product or as an official record of any bank or authority. The selection, wording and software are ours or our licensors’. Third-party names and documents remain theirs.
The “Ask for a bank” box asks for a bank name, a business email, and an optional note. We send one confirmation message to that address. We do not queue the name, and we do not send it to us, until you open the link in that message. Personal inboxes are not accepted. Opening the link does not oblige us to add that bank, or to add it on any timetable. We may reject a name that is not a bank or that we cannot source. The confirmation is not a newsletter.
The free site is provided without a warranty that it is complete, error-free, fit for a particular purpose, or continuously available. Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that English law does not allow us to exclude. Subject to that, our total liability arising from use of this free site is limited to £100.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer rules in your country of residence say otherwise.
Controller: Rondanini Publishing Ltd, company number 16548159, 60 Tottenham Court Road, Suite 6438a, Fitzrovia, London W1T 2EW. Contact bankatlas@fxriskintelligence.com. This notice covers Bank Lineage Atlas at bankatlas.fxriskintelligence.com.
If you request a bank, we store the name, the business email, any note you write, the time, and a short id. We send one confirmation message to that email, through Brevo, so the address has to be opened before the request comes to us. After you confirm, the same request is emailed to bankatlas@fxriskintelligence.com. The address is not added to a marketing list. The server also keeps ordinary technical logs (IP address, user agent, path) to keep the site available and to limit abusive requests. Your cookie choice is stored in this browser under the key bankatlas-cookie-consent. We do not ask for an account, and we do not sell personal data.
The name and the email are processed so we can send the confirmation you need to open, and then queue the research you asked for. That is a step taken at your request, and our legitimate interest in refusing unconfirmed and personal-inbox messages. Logs are processed for security and reliability, as a legitimate interest. Non-essential analytics run only if you accept them in the PlainConsent banner. Rejecting leaves analytics off.
The banner is PlainConsent, the same accept-or-essential choice used on the other Rondanini sites. There is no second cookie banner. You can reopen the choice from the cookie notice.
An unconfirmed request is deleted after 48 hours. A confirmed request, including the email, is kept while it is queued and, if we publish or reject it, as a short record of that outcome. Logs follow the host’s ordinary retention. You can ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction, or a copy, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). We will answer requests to the address above.
Read this before you use a chart in any decision.
Bank Lineage Atlas is a free historical reference. It is not financial advice, investment advice, investment research addressed to any person, a personal recommendation, trading advice, legal advice, regulatory advice, tax advice, or a statement of any bank’s current condition.
The material is corporate genealogy: who founded, merged, bought, rescued, or sold an institution, and in which year. Years are completion years where a source gave one. A bar is not a credit opinion. Inclusion of a bank is not an endorsement, a solicitation, or a comment on its solvency, management, or securities.
Events are tied to a public page that was opened: a company history, a filing, a newspaper, or a reference article. Those pages can move, change, or be wrong. Where they disagreed, the event says so. The cited page prevails over our sentence if the two conflict. Regulation and corporate status change; a historical event is not a description of today’s law or of today’s group.
The trees were produced with artificial intelligence and can contain errors, omitted mergers, wrong years, and wrong sums. Automated research does not make a fact true. Check the source, and the institution’s own documents, before you rely on a line in the chart. Report errors to bankatlas@fxriskintelligence.com.
Nothing on this site invites you to deal in any investment. Rondanini Publishing Ltd is not, by publishing this atlas, a regulator, a central bank, or an adviser to you.
One choice, through PlainConsent. Essential storage is on. Analytics stay off unless you accept them.
The site remembers your consent choice in local storage (bankatlas-cookie-consent). That storage is strictly necessary for the choice itself.
Analytics load only after you press Accept. Reject leaves them off. There is no separate Google banner.
The banner is provided by PlainConsent.
